Terms and conditions

These terms tell you the rules for using our website at voltacon.com. Please read them before you use the site. By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

1. Who we are

This site is operated by Voltacon UK Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 07524135. Our registered office is Unit B5 Paragon Way, Exhall, Coventry CV7 9QS, United Kingdom.

You can reach us by email at info@voltacon.com or by telephone on +44 (0) 2477 675575. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Voltacon UK Limited.

2. This site does not sell anything

This is a corporate information site. Nothing on it is an offer to sell, and no order can be placed through it. Descriptions of products, systems and past work are published for general information.

Our products are sold through two separate shops, Voltacon Solar at voltaconsolar.com and Ledison LED Lighting at ledison-led-lights.co.uk. Those shops are operated under their own terms of sale, which apply to any purchase you make there. Nothing on this site varies them.

Where we supply goods or services directly, the contract is formed on our written terms of sale, which we will provide with a quotation. Those terms take precedence over anything published here.

3. Changes to these terms and to the site

We may amend these terms at any time by changing this page. Please check this page from time to time. The date at the end of these terms shows when they were last changed.

We may update the site, and may change any of its content, at any time. We do not guarantee that the site or any of its content will be free from errors or omissions.

4. Availability of the site

We do not guarantee that the site will always be available or uninterrupted. We may suspend, withdraw or restrict all or any part of it for business or operational reasons. We will try to give reasonable notice of any planned suspension.

You are responsible for making the arrangements necessary for you to access the site, and for making sure that everyone accessing it through your internet connection is aware of these terms and complies with them.

5. Intellectual property

We own or are licensed to use all intellectual property rights in the site and in the material published on it. Those works are protected by copyright and by trade mark law. All such rights are reserved.

You may print one copy and download extracts of any page for your own use, and you may draw the attention of others within your organisation to content on the site. You must not modify any copy you take, and you must not use any illustration, photograph, video or graphic separately from the text that accompanies it.

Our status as the author of content on the site must always be acknowledged. You must not use any part of the content for commercial purposes without a licence from us. Voltacon and Ledison are trade marks used by us and may not be used without our written permission.

6. Do not rely on information on this site

Content on the site is provided for general information only. It is not advice on which you should rely. Specifications, ratings and performance figures are indicative and may change without notice.

You must obtain professional or specialist advice before taking, or refraining from, any action on the basis of content on the site. Electrical installation work is subject to regulation, and must be designed, installed, inspected and tested by a suitably qualified and competent person.

We make no representation or warranty that content on the site is accurate, complete or up to date.

7. Links from this site

Where the site contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, those links are provided for your information only. We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources, and we do not endorse them or accept responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.

8. Linking to this site

You may link to our home page, provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it. You must not suggest any form of association, approval or endorsement on our part where none exists.

You must not frame the site on any other site, and you must not link to it from any site that you do not own. We reserve the right to withdraw linking permission without notice.

9. Acceptable use

You may use the site only for lawful purposes. You must not use it in any way that breaches any applicable law or regulation, that is fraudulent, or that seeks to harm or attempt to harm any person.

You must not misuse the site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, the server on which it is stored, or any server, computer or database connected to it. You must not attack the site by means of a denial of service attack.

A breach of this section may be a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and will co operate with them by disclosing your identity to them. In the event of such a breach your right to use the site will cease immediately.

10. Our liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors, and liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Different limitations apply depending on why you are using the site.

If you are a business user. We exclude all implied conditions, warranties, representations and other terms that may apply to the site or any content on it. If you are a consumer user. We only provide the site for domestic and private use. You agree not to use it for any commercial or business purpose, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity. If defective digital content that we have supplied damages a device or digital content belonging to you, and this is caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill, we will either repair the damage or pay you compensation. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

We are not responsible for viruses, and you must not introduce them. You are responsible for configuring your information technology and platform to access the site, and you should use your own virus protection software.

11. How we use your personal information

We only use personal information as set out in our privacy policy.

12. Enquiries and quotations

Any enquiry you send through the site is an invitation for us to respond. It does not create a contract. Prices, lead times and specifications given in response to an enquiry are valid only for the period stated in the quotation and are subject to our written terms of sale.

13. Third party rights

A person who is not a party to these terms has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any of them.

14. If a term is found to be unenforceable

Each paragraph of these terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full force and effect.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms, their subject matter and their formation are governed by the law of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are resident in Scotland you may also bring proceedings in Scotland, and if you are resident in Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland.
